Official Notice from the Vanuatu Chess Federation 15 August 2026 The Vanuatu Chess Federation (VCF) is aware that its Facebook page is currently being used to publish statements that have not been authorised by the Federation. Members, supporters, and partner organisations should be aware of the following: The individual currently posting to the page is not authorised to speak or act on behalf of the VCF. Communications issued through that page — including any notice of meetings, selection events, or requests to supporters — do not carry the authority of the Federation and should not be relied upon.

 

The Federation’s registered office-holders remain as recorded with the VFSC as recognised by VASANOC and FIDE. Any meeting, tournament, or team “certification” convened outside the Federation’s proper processes has no standing and will not be recognised. The GoFundMe campaign to support Team Vanuatu’s participation in the 2026 Chess Olympiad remains legitimate and active. Any statement asking supporters to pause or withhold donations has not been issued by the Federation. The VCF is addressing this matter through the appropriate legal and regulatory channels, and is in contact with VASANOC, the VFSC, and FIDE. We will not be conducting this through social media.
